The number of heart patients in our country is steadily increasing. The incidence of death due to heart attack among young people is also on the rise. Every year, nearly 28 percent of deaths in this country are caused by heart disease. Public awareness is extremely crucial to reduce this mortality rate. To create global awareness on this issue, World Heart Day is observed every year on 29th September at the call of the World Heart Federation. On this occasion, a Tree Plantation Festival and CPR Training Camp was jointly organized by Calcutta Cardiology Foundation, Bharat Sevashram Sangha and Kalikapur Aguan Sangha at the Sangha's playground.
